Dr. Priscilla Wilson's Place is a new affordable residential housing development on the existing YWCA Banff campus.

The structure features three stories housing 28 regular units and five barrier-free units, expanding the YWCA Banff campus to accommodate more than 70 residents overall.

The new development prioritizes the needs of families, individuals with disabilities and those escaping domestic violence.

This project utilizes a unique structural strategy through the use of 62 recycled shipping containers, with steel and wood-frame supporting construction to bring rapid affordable housing to the community.

This project is projected to achieve NetZero energy performance due to a high degree of coordination across multiple disciplines and the photovoltaic solar panels on the roof.Sustainability was a primary concern during the design and construction of this development due to its location in Banff National Park.

The project is named after Dr. Priscilla Wilson, the first female doctor in Banff known for her positive community impact as well as her dedication to healthcare and gender equality.
