As the Prime Consultant, RJC Engineers delivered building enclosure and energy consulting services for two enclosure renewal projects at the University of the Fraser Valley's Abbotsford campus.

One of these projects, the enclosure rehabilitation of Building A-East, has recently been completed.

This renovation involved installing new curtain wall glazing assemblies and composite metal cladding, along with additional insulation in the walls, resulting in a more durable enclosure that enhances energy performance and updates the building’s appearance.

RJC performed energy studies on both buildings to assess their current energy performance and identify system modifications and synergies aimed at reducing overall energy consumption while improving occupant comfort.

Several Energy Conservation Measures were incorporated into the building renewal design to achieve energy savings and reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions. The original Building A-East had structural deficiencies that were uncovered during the rehabilitation.

RJC’s diversity of service offerings allowed us to provide timely coordinated structural corrections to the existing detailing, seamlessly integrating this unexpected scope of work into the ongoing project.
