2019 Rick Banman Mentorship Award Winner
- Details
A Design Engineer in the Toronto Structural Engineering (STR) group, Leanne received numerous nominations for the 2019 Rick Banman Mentorship Award in recognition of her passion, commitment and willingness to always provide guidance and mentorship to those around her.
Well respected and admired, Leanne is known for her patience, cheerful attitude and leading by example with those she works with. She is very hands-on and engaging and believes that only true collaboration and information sharing will yield a great creative work environment. Leanne’s focus on solving problems and mentoring those around her have earned her a reputation as a strong leader and her colleagues consider her to be “... a great example of someone at RJC who aligns with the six guiding principles.”
A few more words about Leanne from her nominators:
"She is always positive and never criticizes others. Leanne encourages others to improve by setting an example herself. When junior designers made a mistake, she will patiently explain and guide them in the right direction."
"There is no question that Leanne is an excellent role model who is highly respected around the office. Her tireless commitment and countless hours she devotes to her projects and her craft, does not go unrecognized."
"By opening the door to challenge her ideas with others, Leanne is able to show respect and communicate in a way that is not one-sided, but can flow through critical thinking and proven results."
"She is always patient and eager to share knowledge with others and guide junior engineers through design challenges. She never says “no” when approached with questions. If she is busy, she will always find time to come back later for a discussion."
Congratulations Leanne!
