Salary: $58,000 - $76,000 (dependent on experience)

 

Candidate Profile

As the Payroll Administrator you are responsible for the collection, summarization, and accurate processing of time data. Your collaboration with your payroll colleagues and operational teams will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of Firms time data. You play a critical role to organize, enter, calculate, and analyze time reporting data to meet business needs

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Review and approve timesheets, conduct a summary review of the Firm’s weekly timesheets, and update weekly time estimates for Payroll. Create and maintain the fiscal work week schedule for employee hours.
  • Respond to vacation, banked time, timesheet or accrual-related inquiries to ensure accurate and timely resolutions.
  •  Review and confirm new hires in UKG with Payroll, establish in Unanet, and make necessary updates for onboarding, promotions, offboarding, or status changes, including leaves or location changes.
  •  Advise Payroll of overtime hours, import 0.5x banked accruals, and process quarterly banked accruals.
  •  Monitor and review negative time bank accruals regularly to ensure accurate tracking and address discrepancies as needed.
  •  Update and track yearly vacation entitlements and year-to-date accruals. Prepare reports for excess vacation hours and ensure corresponding payments are processed appropriately.
  •  Build and maintain the Firm’s merit increase workbooks, manage data flow between UKG and the workbooks, provide annual merit increase reporting and develop a centralized repository for all Firm compensation data.
  • Maintain and manage the Firm’s Performance Bonus workbook, oversee data flow between UKG and the workbook, provide access to operational leaders as needed, review and flag data concerns.

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES:

EXPERIENCE

  • 2–3 years experience of payroll or accounting or a combination
  • Proficiency in managing large, complex spreadsheets, including advanced formulas, data manipulation, macros, troubleshooting, and data visualization
  • Full cycle payroll and Quebec payroll experience an asset
  • Benefits Administration is an asset

 

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

  • Post secondary diploma
  • National Payroll Institute (NPI) designation or working towards designation
  • Canadian Payroll Association certification would be an asset
